An image and fashion expert, former plus size model and inclusivity pioneer and icon, Catherine is a champion of people and dedicated to the highest potential in all.
In 1996 her husband, Mark Gruenwald, had a fatal heart attack. Gruenwald was Marvel Comics executive editor best known for creating the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe, his ten-year stint as the writer of Captain America (from 1985 to 1995) as well as his work on The Avengers and Iron Man.
As a natural champion of people and causes, Catherine took her grief and turned it into good. Mark’s purpose with all his characters was always the highest good for all. Catherine’s purpose is to keep Mark’s memory and the powers of Captain America operating in the hearts and minds of the universe.
Catherine and Dan talk today about how they turned grief to good through COSMODA, The Cosplay Runway, a fashion show featuring costuming, cosplay, and more. The power of fandom creates the connections that keep the legacy of Mark Gruenwald alive.
